Meet Our Therapists
"We are committed to waiting as I feel that Dr. Hastings and anyone I have known to work at her practice are simply THE best in my experience and for our family."
AMANI Clinical Services has very high standards for the Doctors and Therapists that treat our patients. Our Therapists are hand-selected by Dr. Hastings. Expertise, passion, the courage to grow professionally, and a balanced approach to blending empirical treatments and creative, humanistic approaches is expected. We believe in treating your problems and symptoms so that change is observable and quantifiable. We delight in working ourselves out of a job if that's what you need, or are thrilled to serve as your primary mental health provider, just like you have a primary care physician for your medical needs.

Amanda Owen, MA
Ms. Owen is passionate about working with children and their families, and often times, in working with child and family issues, there are underlying parts of yourself that are struggling to be flexible and adapt to the ways that you, your child, and your family is changing. She will work with you to identify the symptoms and parts of yourself that may be operating as barriers, be gentle with them—and teach you to be gentle with them—and then challenge you to grow. Ms. Owen will also assess the strengths in you and your relationships and use that a foundation to build upon. There will also be a lot of skills training to address the weak points in child, parent, and family functioning, specifically parental responses to child emotions, behaviors, struggles, and symptoms. She has a wealth of experience working with complicated co-parenting situations (e.g. division, abandonment, divorce, guardianship, foster) and the complexities of families formed in diverse ways. She is passionate about helping families sift through and navigate the intricacies of their family system. She adores working with angsty teens.

Dr. Mary Collins, PsyD, Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Collins has nearly a decade of experience supporting patients throughout the lifespan and their systems. She provides grounding as they encounter obstacles, such as the loss of a loved one, receiving a diagnosis of a chronic illness, struggling with substance abuse, or experiencing stuck-ness with a particular emotion (e.g. fear or anger). She provides effective training to parents to remediate symptoms and support their struggling child to overcome fear, sadness, anger and aggression, or uncertainty. Patients and their families learn how to respond, cope, and move forward with newly mastered skills and greater understanding.
Dr. Collins loves working with kids and families. Children bring an active, energetic, and creative nature to sessions. She enjoys seeing children and parents build confidence in their ability to learn and apply new skills resulting in a peaceful home environment. She carefully produces progress in symptoms by designing exposures (which means supported and intentional facing of the things that are feared and are avoided) for patients of all ages. Dr. Collins is proficient and beloved by her patients throughout the lifespan.

Each step is meaningful progress if that step leads to learning, openness to new experiences, and connection to people around you.
